— But you will be ready to say, what was your hope in doing this? — What did you look forward to? — To any thing, every thing — to time, chance, circumstances, slow effects, sudden bursts, perserverance and weariness ... Every possibility of good was before me, and the first of blessings secured ... — from Emma, by Jane Austen (1775-1817)

My dream team!

From the PBS website:

Death Comes to Pemberley to air on Masterpiece
A new adaptation of P.D. James' Death Comes to Pemberley, a continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, will air on MASTERPIECE in 2014. Matthew Rhys (The Americans, Brothers and Sisters), Anna Maxwell Martin (Bleak House), Matthew Goode (Birdsong), and Jenna-Louise Coleman (Doctor Who) will star as Austen's iconic literary characters: Fitzwilliam Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet, George Wickham, and Lydia Wickham.

I read about the filming the other day, and I was hoping!

I've been wondering about this book, almost tempted to buy it when it was in hardcover at the bookstores. I really like P. D. James, and of course Jane, but I could never figure out how the two of them would come together successfully. Maybe I'll have to see the film first. xo

Thank you for visiting!
