The act of reading ... begins on a flat surface, counter or page, and then gets stirred and chopped and blended until what we make, in the end, is a dish, or story, all our own. — Adam Gopnik
I already pre-ordered the new Flavia. How desperate is that given that the release date is not until January? Thanks for the heads up on the King on Netgalley.
I've all but given up on the Bess Crawford series, after the last one, but a new book may change all that. I think this book must take place at the Armistice or soon after. Do you have any idea what is going on with Simon? The ambiguity of it frustrates me.

Hi, Lisa May... I'm a book (or two?) behind so I need to get up to date. I do like these books even though I find them melancholy.
