Danielle of A Work in Progress mentioned two things on her blog yesterday that I wanted to note down and pass along.
- Karen at Bookbath and Tamara at Thyme for Tea are hosting Paris in July again this summer. I enjoyed this last year (even though I didn't participate as much as I wanted to), and I hope I can plan better and join in more this year.
- There's a description at Reading Matters, a blog that's new to me, of a literary walk through London. Those last four words would be enough for me by themselves, but this tour was hosted by Imogen Robertson, the author of Instruments of Darkness, which I'm very sure I'll look back on as one of my favorite books for this year. {Danielle, I hope you're able to read it soon!}
Oh, wait...three things. She also mentioned the new Aurelio Zen series coming this summer on Masterpiece Mystery. I've never read Michael Dibdin, but then again, I've never spent three consecutive Sunday nights gazing at Rufus Sewell, either...

Your post made me chuckle on a number of levels :-) Thanks for letting me know about 'Paris in July'... I'll investigate.
I watched the first episode of Zen shortly after it aired in the UK and I think it was rather good but all the men in Italy speaking with varying English accents and all the women speaking with Italian accents was jarring. I look forward to your views on it when you watch it. It did have me on the edge of my seat at one particular point... I think you might like it. I'm thinking of giving episode two a go soon.
I see you're reading 'The Dog Who Came in from the Cold' and I hope you're enjoying it as much as I did :-)
That plate in your pic is very sweet.
